Skin was Tobias Hill's stunning first collection of stories. The long title story, 'Skin', explores the Japanese underworld - an expansive tale of tattoos and acid and murder. In 'No One Comes Back from the Sea' a young father can't eradicate the ghostly memories of his little twins who have died; in 'Honeymoon in Los Angeles', two Japanese newlyweds experience an early souring of their relationship; in 'Brolly' a group of young children dare each other in a game of depravity while their parents sip drinks under parasols. These are stories which are fresh, incisive and innovative.
